چکیده
Technical Appendix Figure. Phylogenetic tree constructed with HEV sequences for virus strains from study subjects from India, persons in Central African Republic (CAR) with autochthonous infection, and reference strains. Each branch is labeled with the GenBank accession number, the country of origin, and the host (if nonhuman). Scale bar represents nucleotide substitutions per site.

and G1P[6] along with G2P[4] and G9P[8]. Our study results are similar to those of recent studies conducted in other African countries (5–8) and confirm results of studies that found that the same genotypes circulated in western Cameroon in 2003, albeit at different percentages (4,9). Our study provides relevant data about the genotypes of rotavirus-A from children in the Central African Republ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Complete Nucleotide Sequences of Angolan Hepatitis B Virus Isolates Reveals the Existence of a Separate Lineage within Genotype E
Hepatitis B virus genotype E (HBV/E) is highly prevalent in Western Africa. In this work, 30 HBV/E isolates from HBsAg positive Angolans (staff and visitors of a private hospital in Luanda) were genetically characterized: 16 of them were completely sequenced and the pre-S/S sequences of the remaining 14 were determined. A high proportion (12/30, 40%) of subjects tested positive for both HBsAg a...
متن کاملCross-sectional study of hepatitis B virus infection in rural communities, Central African Republic
BACKGROUND As most data on hepatitis in resource-poor countries relate to urban communities, surveys in the rural environment are necessary to determine the 'true' prevalence of these viral infections. We undertook a survey to determine the prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in an apparently healthy rural population in the Central African Republic (CAR). METHODS The cross-section...

متن کاملDetection and Phylogenetic Characterization of Human Hepatitis E Virus Strains, Czech Republic
To determine the origin of hepatitis E virus in the Czech Republic, we analyzed patient clinical samples. Five isolates of genotypes 3e, 3f, and 3g were obtained. Their genetic relatedness with Czech strains from domestic pigs and wild boars and patient recollections suggest an autochthonous source likely linked to consumption of contaminated pork.
